EuroCub at the PFA rally, 2004
|
The PFA rally 2004 saw the arrival, for the first time ever, of Eurocubs flying in the UK. Southern England had some of the worst July weather on record over the 2 days preceding the rally, however 3 of these rugged little aircraft managed to battle their way from Stockholm to Kemble during these 2 days. All 3 of them set out at 6:00 AM on Wednesday the 7th July 2004 from Frolunda, a few miles to the west of Stockholm and arrived at Kemble at 19:20 on Thursday the 8th of July. During this intrepid journey, they made only 4 stops, including overnight on the German Dutch border. The total journey distance, here and back was over 2000 miles. Their arrival at Kemble was also an excellent demonstration of their capabilities, landing in driving rain and a 22 knot cross wind! Compared to the previous year's rally, this year the weather was dreadful, being more like April with cold winds and showers. However, many people manged to get there, making the Eurocub's UK debut a great success. Here are a few pictures of the event. |
In the air park - angry grey skies!
A busy stand.
A rest between customers.
A smart cockpit.
Before the crowds.
The crowd puller.
A happy punter!
